CPM Launches Virtual Training

Oracle-Primavera Announces Increased Functionality in P6 V7 Web Access 


Oracle-Primavera P6 V7’s Web Access software module now includes 95% of the P6 V7 PowerClient functionality. This means P6 power users can now realistically use Web Access to not only update their projects but to help manage them in real-time. P6 V7 Web Access now makes excellent use of screen real estate as described below. Users familiar with P3 functionality will find this feature particularly useful.

 

 
Oracle-Primavera P6 V7 Web Access Improves Efficiency Allowing Less Expensive Remote Access to PM Database

The major importance of P6 V7 Web Access improvements is its ability to allow users to use the web based Primavera software module to help manage projects in real-time all around the world. This means that remote users are no longer required to use the more costly and challenging Citrix remote access functionality to access a centralized multi-project database.

Many organizations currently manage their multiple business units using different solutions as described below. This discord among systems often gives rise to many inefficiencies and project failures. 

 

P6 V7 Web Access now facilitates the easier deployment of an enterprise-wide IT and project management software functional solution for multiple divisions or business units all managing their own projects with their own Work Breakdown Structures and all having their respective data roll up in the enterprise allowing corporate-wide visibility to projects progress and problems.

 

Oracle-Primavera P6 V7 users in multiple locations can work on multiple projects simultaneously all on the same database as indicated below. Given limited capacity and resources, P6 V7 Web Access users can use the software to help Align projects to work on with the strategic direction of the company. Users can then use P6 V7 to Plan and Schedule projects. On an on-going basis, P6 V7 is used to help Execute all facets of projects, Monitor progress by viewing continually updated Dashboards, continually Analyze project progress and produce and distribute project Reports on screen and/or in hard copy.

Work Execution Project (WEP) successfully completed by Hydro One will increase productivity in executing work throughout Hydro One. eTimeMachine played an important role in providing software and implementation support.  

The WEP’s objective was to improve and build on existing systems and business processes. Major challenges included ability to provide an elaborate and comprehensive functionality to meet Hydro One requirements and at the same time integrate with other systems such as Primavera as well as existing applications, high volumes of data, and access from remote locations.
 
eTimeMachine's role in the WEP system is to gather all activities and resource assignments to crews and to individuals, from Primavera and PragmaCAD, manage crews, collect progress as well as time and expense information and distribute the information to Primavera, PragmaCAD and PassPort. In this capacity, eTimeMachine carries all projects, activities, assignments and work execution information. Integration with PassPort is now replaced with SAP integration.
 
The result is improved workforce efficiency, automatic work order generation, use of single scheduling system, efficient and accurate timekeeping. The outcome is in the reduction of administration costs and eventually an enterprise planning platform that supports visibility of resources and work across the enterprise.

Jason’s sales experiences in a variety of areas are valued additions to the sales and marketing efforts at CPM. He has worked in business development, direct sales, two tier distribution sales management and marketing of software, hosting, ERP, and consulting services.

CPM welcomes Tomer Zazkis as an Administrative Accountant.  Tomer is replacing Leanne Messina during her maternity leave. Tomer is a third year Accounting student at Simon Fraser University.
